About

Best case scenario: I am a fairly young woman with a full-time job, my own apartment, and a dog. I love the internet and I am sure that it is the most valuable invention ever, right after tampons. Thanks, Al Gore. I have been spending my time online for about 12 years, and I’ve seen my fair share of bad websites, more than one being my own, naturally. And I can’t even promise that this one will be better. Do you see what I did there? I showed you that I also have a wicked sense of humour.

I am a TV show addict. Especially cop shows (SVU, CSI: LV, NY and Miami, Cold Case) and hospital shows (House, Private Practice, Grey’s Anatomy). The best shows ever made, in my opinion, are Moonlighting, Twin Peaks, and Seinfeld. Don’t hate on the Seinfeld, please.

As I said, I have a dog, and he is practically my life. He’s a 10-month (as of January 1st, 2008) old Greek beach mutt, and he is amazing. You will probably hear about him often.

Worst case scenario: I am a 30-year old woman who likes to act 16. Maybe 17. I am terribly self-indulgent and I like to write about my misfortunes. I am an internet addict who has missed many a chance to social contacts in favour of staying home with my computer and the faceless people speaking to me through it. Even after years and years of webdesign practice, I still don’t trust myself with doctypes and div layers.

I also like to forget about real life by indulging in hours upon hours of TV shows, living vicariously through Olivia Benson or Addison Montgomery. I can probably tell you what happened on last night’s [insert show], but don’t ask me about front page news.

My dog is my substitute for everything and anyone who is missing in my life, which is a big load to put on his shoulders, but he has four of them. Plus, he jumps on my ribcage with all of his 75lbs sometimes, so he deserves some minor responsibility to make up for it.

Of importance: I live in the heart of Europe. Germany and France are both only half an hour away. Speaking of Germany, I’m a fan. I work six days a week in a job that is the opposite of anything I’d ever wanted to do, because it requires me to be social and outgoing while I’m really rather socially awkward and introverted. You learn new things everyday. I love walks in the nature with my dog and I am addicted to Diet Coke. I enjoy my bread with Nutella every Sunday morning (the only day I have an actual breakfast) and when I’m upset, I clean. I would have loved to know Marlene Dietrich when she was young. And alive. I think glasses are the sexiest accessory anyone can wear. I have perfect eyesight though, so I’m not so sexy I suppose.

I speak my own language, German, English, French, and if my life depended on it, I could probably find the nearest public bathroom in an Italian city. Not that I wanted to use a public bathroom in an Italian city. One day, I am going to take Dutch lessons, because I’m infatuated with that language.

I am right-handed and right-brained, and my political views are on the left side. I adore frogs and giraffes and like most other animals. I am tattooed twice and pierced seven times, but five out of them are innocently located in my ears. I am scared of groups of teenagers and of big ships. I want to visit Greenland and am generally more interested in places in the Northern part of the Northern Hemisphere.
